We were looking for a place to eat for breakfast and I had remembered a recommendation for the diner in the strip mall at 12 Mile and Campbell roads. We headed over and found Charlie's.
Doesn't look like much from the outside but once we were inside we found ourselves in a classic little, mom and pops style diner. The restaurant was unique and had an old school feel to it. The faint red glow of the ambient lighting. The soft instrumental music playing in the background. Impeccably clean.
We were seated at one of the booths lining the perimeter of the restaurant and handed our menus. The menu was deep. Many options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. We ordered our food and a little while later it arrived. I went with the Charlie's breakfast which was 3 eggs, 2 bacon, 2 sausage links, a piece of ham, and I opted for pancakes for the carbohydrate option. My wife ordered the Nutella crepes.
My breakfast plate was delicious. My wife's Nutella plate looked exceptional. Two crepes with fresh cut strawberries and bananas, drizzled with Nutella, and topped with whip cream.
The wait staff was friendly. The food prices were reasonable. We will definitely return. -

Fries that we have been missing since a restaurant we love had a fire.
Chicken in the chicken and waffles was awesome.
Mexican omelet was full of veggies and hashbrowns were perfect.

Local establishment with consistent wait staff. The food is a good deal and of reliable good quality. Great salads including Charlie's chicken salad and strawberry chicken salad. Always have enough for a later snack.
A good option for breakfast. Can be a bit noisy and crowded on weekend mornings so plan to get there early or be in for a wait.
Restaurant has become my go to for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Travel for work and always welcome a return to Charlie's. -

Got the chicken pita. It was huge! Chicken was juicy. It was still warm when I picked up the order to go late! I can see why this place has such a good rating!
